This blog is about my garden and the outdoors. I am new to photography but I am trying to show some of the pretty things that grow here in Michigan. I love the wild things who visit me and I dont mind if they eat a bit here and there. I like it more if they let me take their picture. As time goes on I think I will try to show you around the beautiful area that I live in as well as my garden. I try to use my own pictures as much as possible but will also use pictures from the web. If I inadvertently use your photo or work without permission please email me and I will remove it or give credit if you prefer. I will give credit when I know who the owner is. I would ask that anyone using my pictures do the same.

Garlic Chives.............

I love this flower. All my chives have purple flowers and this one has only just bloomed. It is so pretty. It's a perennial and I so hope it will survive. This is it's second year and I don't believe it bloomed last year. Anyway. I just had to show everyone this beauty.

I have several bunches of regular chives throughout the garden because I love the flowers. Its about the only herb I remember to gather too. Love them on baked potatoes with butter and sour cream/

Next year I am going to get some more of those Garlic chives for sure. Apparently you can use the flowers and they would look great in a green salad.

I agree: I've always thought the flowers on chives were very pretty.

I love chives! I always grow a large flower pot full of them every year.

I loved the Browning poem in your prior post. Autumn is my favorite time of the year!

Sorry I've taken so long to respond but your comment went to a file I don't check often enough...I think your photography is great. You asked me what program I used to make mosaics. I use Picasa to do everything...it's quick and easy. Photoshop is wonderful to really work on photos but you can eat up years of your life with it. I also use Windows Live Writer to write and post my blog posts...makes blogging so much easier and it is very east to learn...both Picasa and Live Writer are free programs and yu can't do better than that!!!
Have a beautiful weekend!!!
