June the first and a nice rainfall last night. The temperatures have really dropped so today I went back to the garden center. I really must stop. I had wanted to find something to put in the metal tub. I decided on some grass I had seen last time I was there. I don't know what came over me. I really had good intentions. I got a new rose as well as the grass I had wanted. Also got some more veggies and herbs and some daisies.
I really did not mean to.
When I got back I found that the tub had a lot of water in it. I was going to put gravel at the bottom before the soil but it was holding too much for that to work. So for now it is on it's side and the daisies are around it.
I got some Watermelon and planted that and the Rhubarb. Not sure how that will do because of the sun, we shall see. This is still and experiment and if the veggies do not do well then it will become a flower garden next year.
Meanwhile I got things planted out front
I ended up pulling out the old rose that was definitely dead and sticking the new one in there.
That garden now has all it can hold. The main garden got a new Daisy. Look at how full the gardens are getting
I went to check on the Snowball bushes over on Buds side and it's looking great out there. He should enjoy the view.
I took a look at the Tomato and hung her up, a few tiny tomato's on it
I now have a nice selection of herbs. I bought two more today and some peppers.
The back is coming along but now needs a whole lot of work
My Rose has tiny buds
Look at the size of the leaves on that Hosta
I cut some of the hedges out back to let the light in to my potted plants and to keep the path clear
I had friends watching
A different wreath for the door
Each day it looks better but always lots to do
I still have things sitting in pots waiting to be planted. I always place things and wait and see how it likes it before planting. So it is supposed to be nice tomorrow and I hope to start out there with thinning and weeding. If it's nice enough I need to go find some more rocks for the side.
This blog is about my garden and the outdoors. I am new to photography but I am trying to show some of the pretty things that grow here in Michigan. I love the wild things who visit me and I dont mind if they eat a bit here and there. I like it more if they let me take their picture. As time goes on I think I will try to show you around the beautiful area that I live in as well as my garden. I try to use my own pictures as much as possible but will also use pictures from the web. If I inadvertently use your photo or work without permission please email me and I will remove it or give credit if you prefer. I will give credit when I know who the owner is. I would ask that anyone using my pictures do the same.
