I have a horrible cold so I waited until it was about 45degrees before I went outside. It was sunny. I finished putting down the rest of the mulch on my garden pathways. I still need at least 12 more sacks of the stuff. This is good for now though. I need to get out and finish the side gardens over by Bud's side. Take out all the dead stuff and seeds. Once done with the Spring clean up I really don't have much else that's really work. The rest is fun stuff. Transplanting and putting in annuals.
I was so happy, I saw two butterfly's. Last year I didn't see any all summer and here it is only April. I saw a Cabbage white yesterday but didn't have the camera and it was flitting hither and yon and not settling anywhere. Today this one was sunning herself.
Then when I went to see if the Apple blossom was out this little girl was back in the tree sunning herself. Then her ol man came by and they went off together. I bet they have a nest.
Our apple tree is strange. It was an ornamental crab apple when we bought it. That has pink blossoms.
Now the main tree has come through. So now it has white flowers one year and pink the next, some years like this one, both blossom. I was looking to see if the white ones are ready to open. Its rather unique. I could have pruned it so that the white one would be gone but why? Its pretty this way.
The kids were out in the garden supervising.
The poodles get in all the pictures if possible. This path goes behind the (what was) the fountain. This year that fountain (it leaks) will hold flowers instead of water. All the little kids love all the pathways that meander around the gardens. It makes it interesting I suppose. I also have poodle paths for the dogs who wont stay off the garden no matter how I try so this makes it easy for them
The Trillium is all out now. I must get some more.
I like to have interesting things sitting around to put plants in. That's one of the more fun things that come later.
I put in a few pansies today, but I have a lot more to put into containers in shady spots.
Maybe on the back of the little wagon.
This blog is about my garden and the outdoors. I am new to photography but I am trying to show some of the pretty things that grow here in Michigan. I love the wild things who visit me and I dont mind if they eat a bit here and there. I like it more if they let me take their picture. As time goes on I think I will try to show you around the beautiful area that I live in as well as my garden. I try to use my own pictures as much as possible but will also use pictures from the web. If I inadvertently use your photo or work without permission please email me and I will remove it or give credit if you prefer. I will give credit when I know who the owner is. I would ask that anyone using my pictures do the same.
