This blog is about my garden and the outdoors. I am new to photography but I am trying to show some of the pretty things that grow here in Michigan. I love the wild things who visit me and I dont mind if they eat a bit here and there. I like it more if they let me take their picture. As time goes on I think I will try to show you around the beautiful area that I live in as well as my garden. I try to use my own pictures as much as possible but will also use pictures from the web. If I inadvertently use your photo or work without permission please email me and I will remove it or give credit if you prefer. I will give credit when I know who the owner is. I would ask that anyone using my pictures do the same.

This is a place of wonderful natural beauty. No point in looking at the town really, its a town like any other. Maybe more peaceful than most, but that is changing. Its growing and with that comes all the other stuff.
Here is the lighthouse out on the Peninsula all done up for Christmas

Point Betsy looks a little bleak.

The beaches are clear of people and if the roads are oK its wonderful to walk along them.

If the roads are not good. Well we stay home

So you wonder why the power goes out? Actually, here in town it seldom does. The trees sometimes come down because some trees are really old.

Bummer.......our quiet town is busy all year now thanks to Good Morning America we are not the top destination for summer and so the "fudgies" dont go home anymore. Good for local business and thats why we need snow whether I want it or not. It is pretty............but......sigh!!!!!!

haha, well the pictures come from the local web site, I try to stay inside in winter. Fudgies are what tourists are called. We have an amazing fudge shop and everyone goes home with some Doug Murdocks fudge,,,,,,,so they are known fondly as fudgies

This is a beautiful post! I lived for 10 years in a small Quebec town in the Laurentian Mountains where ski hills and summer cottages keep the tourist industry booming. Your explanation of "Fudgies" made me smile. I hope you are safe and warm and that the snow will soon give way to beautiful summer vistas.
